From a Single Pilot to a County-Wide Model

This quarter, our partnership with Forsyth County School District expanded district-wide. Shoe closets are now formally established at four schools:

  • Brandywine Elementary
  • Little Mill Middle
  • Denmark High School
  • East Forsyth High School

Just as important: students don't have to attend one of these four schools to get help. Social workers at any Forsyth County school can request shoes for a student directly through our intake process, even without a physical closet on their campus. Whether a student is at a school with an established closet or not, every social worker in the district now has a direct path to get them what they need.

Community Partners Showing Up

Valor Christian Academy hosted a shoe drive on our behalf this quarter, rallying their school community to collect shoes and socks for students in need. We're grateful for partners who turn their own community spirit into direct support for ours.

We also launched a new pop-up shoe drive partnership with Chill Hill Ice Cream Shop at Vickery Village in Cumming — an easy, fun way for the community to drop off shoes while grabbing a scoop.

A Note From Our Founder

"I am genuinely excited about establishing this partnership with Forsyth County. This model can easily be replicated across the region with the support of residents and businesses here, and with partners in other school districts as well. I'm optimistic about the future of Grounded Soles Foundation and the impact it will have on our communities."

— Samantha Cambridge, Founder & Executive Director

Coming This Summer

We're heading into a busy Q3:

  • Our first-ever fundraiser, the Summer Giving Campaign, launches July 1st with a goal of $10,000 to fuel our next phase of growth.
  • We're hosting another pop-up shoe drive at Chill Hill Ice Cream Shop on July 18th.
  • We're proud to support the Back to School Bash at Little Mill Middle on August 1st.

Every Step Starts With You

None of this happens without our community of donors, partners, and volunteers. As we head into our first fundraising campaign this summer, your support will help us reach even more students across Forsyth County.
